Welcome to the Quality Assurance & Quality Control (QA/QC) Certificate Program

The Quality Assurance & Quality Control (QA/QC) Certificate through the Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry at Utah Tech University is designed to prepare students and working professionals for the high standards of modern laboratory environments. Whether you are currently pursuing a Physical/Life Science degree or are already employed in the industry and seeking to expand your skill set, this certificate provides practical, workforce-aligned training in regulatory compliance, documentation practices, and quality systems. Through hands-on experience and exposure to real laboratory workflows, participants gain the knowledge and applied skills needed to support safety, accuracy, and accountability across fields such as physical and life sciences, manufacturing, and environmental testing.

How to Apply

Apply to Utah Tech University

All participants must first be admitted to Utah Tech University.

Current Degree-Seeking Students:
No additional university application is required if you are already enrolled at Utah Tech go to Step 2.

Non-Degree Seeking / Industry Professionals:
Complete the Non-Degree Seeking Student Application (This step ensures you are eligible to enroll in certificate coursework.)
Request an Out-of-State Application Fee Waiver Code

Submit the QA/QC Certificate Application

After university admission is confirmed, complete the Quality Assurance & Quality Control Certificate Application Form.

This short application allows the department to:

  • Verify eligibility
  • Track certificate enrollment
  • Plan for practicum placement to align students with appropriate tracks (pharmaceutical, environmental, or industrial)

Acceptance & Registration Support

Once your application has been reviewed:

You will be contacted by the Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry regarding your acceptance status.

Accepted participants will receive guidance on:

  • Course sequencing
  • Registration steps
  • Practicum placement
  • Program timeline
  • Department staff will assist you through the registration process to ensure you are successfully enrolled in the required certificate courses.
