Do you offer professional development opportunities for high school teachers?
Yes. We host an annual professional development event, workshops, and seminar for science teachers, focusing on hands-on chemistry, laboratory activities, and emerging topics. The event is designed to support classroom teaching and foster collaboration between high school and university educators.
Can we get help designing or improving laboratory activities for our classes?
Absolutely. Our faculty are happy to consult with teachers on developing, adapting, or troubleshooting lab activities that align with learning goals, available resources, and safety considerations.
Can we bring students for a tour of your chemistry facilities?
Yes. We welcome class visits and can arrange tours of our teaching and research laboratories. Tours can be tailored to highlight instrumentation, undergraduate research, and career pathways in chemistry.
Do you provide mentors or judges for science fairs and research competitions?
Yes. Faculty and advanced students may be available to serve as mentors, guest speakers, or judges for science fairs and STEM competitions, depending on availability and scheduling.
Can someone from your program visit our school to talk about chemistry careers?
Yes. We are happy to provide classroom visits or virtual presentations on chemistry careers, college pathways, and undergraduate research opportunities.
Is it possible to borrow small laboratory supplies or equipment?
In some cases, yes. We may be able to loan small laboratory supplies, demonstration materials, or simple instruments, depending on availability and safety requirements. Please contact us to discuss your needs.
Can high school students participate in research activities?
Select opportunities may be available for motivated students, including research experiences or special events. Availability varies by year.
How do teachers get started or request support?
